The President?!?!

Whoa?!! That was a surprise. 24 is getting good and keeps me on my toes each week. No NCAA tonight, had to watch 24 and I'm so glad I did. Lots going on. Too much to comment on, but all I can say in short is, Homeland Security sucks, Bill will calm down about this in good time, and the spineless twit of a President is the mastermind?!!?!

Go get 'em JACK!

24 Explodes Into a Great Season

WOW. Now this is one hell of a season of 24. With a 4 hour season premier, thus far we have seen Jack come back from the dead, stop round one of terrorist plots, only to be hung out to dry by some of his colleagues back at CTU. Oh, the opinions I have about this season. Here is the quick run-down.

  1. The president in this show is a wimp and should never be in office. It is one thing to surround yourself with intelligent people, it is completely different when you can't handle the situation at hand and make the tough decisions. Though deciding to let your wife die to save hudreds of thousands is no easy task either.
  2. Lynne is a complete ass. I had such mixed thoughts about him. First he came in with a power trip. Then he saves Jack's life with catching his old protocol. Then he turns back into an ass with his power trip. And as Dennis and I chatted about after the show, that lost ID card is completely coming back into play later.
  3. Torture. OK, I see both sides of the story on this. My question, and I don't have an answer to this, is at what point, if any, is torture OK to get information that will save American lives? None? Five? The good news is that I can separate the fiction of a TV episode and reality. But regardless, it is an internal conflict if put into a situation of truth.

I could go on with other examples, but needless to say, next week is going to rock. Two hours with Kim and Tony coming back into the story line. Buchanan back running things. Things will get interesting.

Just so you know, I can never, ever sit down watching that show. I always pace around the living room, talk back to the TV, and get so involved. It is worse than watching football.

Taking Matters Into Your Own Hands...Bauer Does It Again

This show never ceases to amaze me. It is BY FAR the best show on TV right now. Not only does it have the suspence and thriller sequences that everyone loves in a good action movie, it happens every week. Jack Bauer has again risen to the occasion of taking matters into his own hands to save the day. Resigning from his current job to take on a suspect as a civilian to get vital information out of him. What a ballsy move. Now he will be on the run for breaking the law.

The biggest tease was during the previews for next week when the writers again are bringing a character from last season back...ex-President David Palmer to help advise the current President who is wussing out of his duties in this time of need. I was jumping around just like I was when the brought Tony back earlier this season. Two things have made this season great. 1) The story development with the twists, turns, and second guessing, and 2) the integration of characters from this season and last. Oh, and there is a 3...no repeats. Fox delayed the season so they wouldn't show any repeats bewteen new episodes. I'm hooked on Monday night's between 8 and 9. No calls, no Internet, nothing. Just 24.

My Man Tony Comes Through!

This season of 24 finally has got me excited. It came tonight after Jack made a phone call to "the only one I can trust" now that CTU had been compromised. Tony Almeida, deemed a traitor last year for putting his wife's life in front of national security, came to the rescue of Jack and Audrey at the last minute in a gun fight. After Jack made that phone call my blood got pumping at the possiblities of characters returning from last season to help. I knew it couldn't be Chloe to help, it had to be someone else. I frist thought Tony, but then quickly thought about Chase as well. I'm glad it was Tony. This definitely takes the show to a new level.

New Season of 24

Tonight kicked off the 4th season of 24 on Fox. I'm excited that it is back! I was, however, suprised to see how many of the cast from last year did not return. Obviously some were not returning due to how everything went down in the last season like Tony and his wife. Chase and Kim were leaving due to Chase's character having a kid from another relationship. Chloe returns, but I'm not sure I like her character, more her character's attitude.

Right off the bat I'm not impressed with Erin Driscoll, the new head of CTU. Some of the scenes were obvious what as going to happen. Only tomorrow's continued 2 hour episode will help fill in some of the story. This show is one not to miss.
